Aside from the Sunday morning “big church”, Blackhawk Ministries has many different ministries/small groups/life groups for people to plug in to… there is something for everyone, every age and season of life. The Senior Adult Ministries at Blackhawk is called “The Legacy Group” and is open to all senior adults from any of the different LifeGroups that meet either Sunday morning or during the week. The legacy group is one of my favorite groups to visit, they are “classic” and genuinely sweet! It’s amazing how many new faces I see and how many familar faces there still are… people who have being going to Blackhawk for many many years makes my heart smile! When my grandparents(Homer and Barb Ray) were living, they were very active in this group(formally known as Super Sixties) and it brings joy to my heart when they are still talked about among the group!

The legacy Christmas brunch was a great morning of fellowship, food and caroling! Everyone brought a dish to share, hot coffee/tea was available and the tables had festive decor. Rick Huls lead the group in prayer and then Cherith lead in singing Christmas Carols. The simplicity of a guitar and voices raised all together always gives me chills! It was a beautiful time of worship with the foundational members of our church! We all leave a legacy… what is yours?
