What a great honor it is to have a friend call me and want me to do a photo session for her newborn baby! Emily and I have known each other since we were in Kindergarten and have been friends for over 20 years! Our relationship is great, we may not see each other much anymore, but we can always “pick up where we left off”! So many great stories and memories(she was always the troublemaker ;))! Now that we are both new mommies, we have even more reason to stay in connected! Emily and her husband Josh, have been on a long journey towards parenthood. When I received the news that their adoption journey had finally led them to a baby boy ready to be adopted to a loving family, I was over-the-moon thrilled for them! Lincoln was born on July 11, 2015 – earlier than his scheduled due-date, therefore he had to spend a few weeks in the NICU, but he is healthy and happy! So thankful! They brought their baby boy home August 7, 2015 and have been such good parents, as I knew they would be!
As you can see, he is just perfect and so loved!

Oh Lincoln, your soft baby skin, tiny fingers and toes, pouty lips and little nose are so precious. You will be changing right before your parents eyes! Emily and Josh, just SOAK him up!

I always instruct parents to bring any “props” or special items to the photo session that we might use in some of the photographs. Well, Emily did not disappoint, along with some family stuffed toys, this blanket was brought by Emily. This blanket is very special, hand-made by Emily while she stayed at the hospital with Lincoln while he was in the NICU! I love to incorporate items with meaning and love!

I picked up this little boat a few weeks before my photo session with Lincoln and was super excited to make the perfect scene. I couldn’t resist the large, light-up anchor and the baby-sized boat oars! I just adore this photograph! Sweet little fisherman!

Thank you Emily and Josh for allowing me to photograph your sweet bundle of joy. You will now have beautiful photographs of his sweet little baby face to treasure for a lifetime! Don’t blink, soak him in and enjoy him as a little baby boy, because time flies!
