Blackhawk Christian School | Graduation Ceremony | June 5, 2022 | 4pm

What a joy to attend the 2022 BCS high school graduation ceremony! It was 20 years ago(am I really that old?!?! LOL) that I graduated from Blackhawk Christian School! I attended K-12(there was no preschool option at that time)… there were many of us who had walked those halls together for 13 years! Apparently there is now a certificate that is received if you are part of the “13 year club”, which they recently gave an official name of “BCS Philippians Families” – we hope to be a second generation Philippians Family! 🙂

There were many familar faces… much loved previous teachers(Mr. Holloway, Mr. Guthrie and Mr. Freeborn, just to name a few), BCS alum who are now teachers, and family friends with a 2022 grad!

God has blessed Fort Wayne with BCS for nearly 50 years and I pray that He continues to pour His blessings on the BCS family!

Words of wisdom from one of the best, Mr. Holloway. “What we treasure the most controls us”
“What are you putting your hope in? What you put your hope in is your treasure… if possessions, money, people or career is ALL important to you, then you need to readjust your focus! Jesus is calling all of us to eternal values. If anything, or anyone takes God’s rightful place on the throne of our heart, then we are in serious trouble, so don’t allow it! The world is a difficult place, and all these things could seem overwhelming if your treasure is in the wrong place. Heavenly treasures cannot be destroyed or stolen, true joy and contentment are found in Jesus and not things/people/money etc. Keep your focus on the real treasure. As I reflect of this past year, I am reminded of the lyrics of the Colton Dixon song, Through All of It. Your parents and BCS, as imperfect as we are, we want the best for you – we want your heart stayed on Jesus and we want Him to always be your treasure, and now it’s all up to you and there is a job that Jesus left you to do in this world – he gave you His great commission(he referenced the song The Commission by Cain. GO TELL THE WORLD ABOUT ME). BCS Class of 2022, go share Jesus as the treasure of your heart and rejoice in the Lord always!”

Photo slideshow of all the graduates! I can imagine so many sweet memories flooding the parents as they see baby pictures and official senior pictures of their kiddos! The last song that played during the slideshow was The Blessing by Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes “May His favor be upon, and your family and your children… in your coming and your going… in your weeping and your rejoicing… HE IS FOR YOU!”

One of the many sweet families I know and love! CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations BCS Class of 2022! Just as Mr. Holloway said “BCS Class of 2022, go share Jesus as the treasure of your heart and rejoice in the Lord always”
