Throughout the year I like to do some kind of volunteer work, to give back to the community. It usually involves dogs and photography… this year I have decided to do something a little different(along with the annual doggie projects). I was so excited to hear that a friend from my church was leading a team for this year’s Habitat for Humanity Women Build. She was gathering women volunteers, specifically from our church, to help for one day during a one month “Women Build” event. For years I have heard about Habitat for Humanity, but hadn’t really known the history and goals of their “mission”. Since I am newbie to the ins and outs of Habitat for Humanity, I will not even try to educate you – here is their website. Each year, Habitat holds a one month “Women Build” event – here is the website with specific details about this event. I have offered to photograph the highlights from that big day… coming in a few weeks(so stay tuned!), and also to photograph some of the other highlights during this month’s big event! I know I am blessed beyond measure… if you are too, then go out and use your gifts to serve others! Be a blessing and you will be blessed!

There are many big partners and supporters of Habitat for Humanity, one big one is Lowe’s Home Improvement. They offer several different kinds of “learning clinics” to educate the volunteers on some of the many tasks they will be doing for building a home. THANKS LOWE’S!

This past week I dropped in on a Painting and Trim class.

Jerry was very helpful teaching the ladies all about paint finish choices, brush brands and techniques for the best paint coverage.

After my assistant took her shoes and socks off, had some water to drink and finished her snack, she finally used her pink camera to take some photographs of this event… #MiniMe #Twinsies

***updated 5/5/2017, because of the recent rainfall, the kick off tomorrow will be delayed to the afternoon and unfortunately I have a prior commitment so I will not be able to attend and photograph the kick off. 🙁
